Call for Papers

The Research Group on Medieval Interdisciplinary Studies at Universitat Jaume I (GREMI) is pleased to announce the celebration of the International Conference Traductio et Traditio Mediaevales: science, knowledge and ideology, which will take place in the city of Morella (Castelló) on 14th, 15th and 16th March, 2019.

The organising committee will accept proposals on any aspect related to translation and cultural transmission during the Middle Ages. Submissions can be sent in an attached document, preferably in Word or RTF format, to the e-mail [email protected] until 30th September, 2018. These should include the following information:

  • Author
  • Academic filiation
  • E-mail
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Communication’s Title
  • Short abstract (150-300 words)

The received proposals will be reviewed and their inclusion in the programme will be notified before 30th October. More specific instructions on the payment methods and inscription will be provided in the web page. Registration fees for participants will be 100 euros (if the payment is made before 15th November, 2018) or 130 from that date onwards.

Communications, which will last to a maximum of 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for discussion and debate, will be organised in sessions of approximately one hour and a half. The languages of the congress will be Catalan, Spanish and English. Exceptionally, communications in other Romance languages will be accepted if required by the work’s content.

NB: All attendants will have at their disposal, if they wish, a bus to make the journey from Castelló to Morella on 13th March, 2019; and also on 16th March to make the trip back to Castelló. The meeting time and place will be confirmed after closing the conference program.
