The CFP is looking to "emphasize the importance of looking at the contextual relationship of local religious practice" but "expanding it, not only to include the rest of Western Europe but, crucially, the context of the Levantine world the crusades embarked on." The organizer is particularly looking forward to papers that consider new approaches and sources to the Crusades, especially those coming from outside of the Christian West.
