Herzog August Bibliothek: Research Fellowships 2020


The Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel (www.hab.de) is an independent research centre. Its holdings represent a unique archive of European cultural history comprising manuscripts, incunabula, early imprints, graphic art and maps. We welcome applications from scholars working in all historically oriented disciplines. The library has its own rental accommodation for guest researchers and the fellowships have a residence requirement. Applications now being received are for fellowships in 2020. Submission deadline: January 31st 2019. There are two categories of fellowships.


Post-doc Fellowships, six to ten months: Addressed to early career scholars who are within 6 years of receiving their PhD when applying, for applications submitted in January 2019 the PhD must have been awarded in 2013 or later. The monthly fellowship is € 2.200, plus a travel allowance and a monthly child supplement.


Short-term Fellowships, one to three months: Addressed to a broad range of scholars of all career stages, from post-doc to emeriti, wishing to make a short visit in order to gather source material. The monthly fellowship is € 1.800, a travel subsidy will be paid.
