Boccaccio Beyond the Decameron
While Boccaccio was a prolific author whose literary production exhibits immense creativity and linguistic diversity, a disproportionate amount of critical attention has gone to the Decameron. Neglecting his other texts has been a great disservice not only to our brilliant author but also to those who study him. To fill this lacuna, we invite submissions that focus on Boccaccio's other works (including texts both in Italian and in Latin). While we welcome papers that relate these works to the Decameron, we encourage writers to avoid making the Decameron the protagonist of their talks. By privileging his texts outside of the Decameron, we hope to give scholars the opportunity to share a series of perspectives as rich and varied as Boccaccio's corpus itself.
We ask for submissions to reach us by September 15th, and can be sent to [email protected].
