Centre for Medieval Literature conference: Scales of Literary History - Europe 500-1500, Rome

April 05, 2022

Centre for Medieval Literature conference from 5-7 April 2022 in Rome – full details can be found here https://cml.sdu.dk/news/cfp-cml-conference-scales-of-literary-history-europe-c-500-1500.

The theme of the conference is ‘Scale(s) of Literary History – Europe c. 500-1500’. We very warmly welcome you to attend and would be delighted if you submitted a proposal for a panel or a paper. The conference will follow the model we used both at York for the ‘Theorizing Medieval European Literature’ conference in 2016 and in Athens for the ‘Moving Forms: The Transformations and Translocations of Medieval Literature’ symposium in 2019. We hope that it, like York, Athens and our smaller conferences and workshops, will be marked by collaborative exchange across the literary cultures of medieval Europe and its neighbours.

There will be no cost to attend the conference, but colleagues will need to pay for their own travel and accommodation and also for the conference dinner. Our aim is to develop the conference into a sustainable biannual event, addressing medieval literature across and beyond Europe. We will have bursaries available to defray the costs of PhD and early careers researchers
