The Medievalist Toolkit is an initiative to encourage interdisciplinary public engagement and social action for contemporary discourse on the MIddle Ages. Our mission is to mobilize our academic expertise to assist journalists and activits in countering the myths about medieval Europe that are currently being used to undergird the alt-right movement and other forms of extreme conservatism.

We welcome graduate students working on the Middle Ages to join us for our first workshop, where we will review rough drafts of educational material with our consultants and learn about methods to share our knowledge with the public in effective ways.

Consultants:

  • Vegas Tenold: journalist, author of Everything You Love Will Burn: Inside the Rebirth of White Nationalism in America
  • Sammy Ranger: executive director, Life after Hate
  • Brianna Rennix: writer and senior editor of Current Affairs, student at Harvard Law School, Immigration Advocate

Please note that attendance is capped at 25 people and an RSVP is required.
