Agnieszka Rec, a graduate of Yale's History PhD program who now works as an associate editor at the Massachusetts Historical Society, will be giving a talk entitled "Wôpanâak Inscribed: Ethics and Encoding in a Wampanoag-English Vocabulary Digital Edition." The Wampanoag language is an indigenous language historically spoken in New England, particularly in southeastern Massachusetts. All are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially those with an interest in textual editing, Digital Humanities, colonial American history and Native American issues and linguistics.
