Alkemie exists to explore and share the life-affirming and alternative perspectives to be experienced in the sounds of centuries past. With the support of Early Music America, this concert represents the launch of an NYC-based initiative dubbed "Alkemie and Friends" - a series of informal, musically experimental, and multi-sensory concerts. This series is a forum for the ensemble to create programs that take advantage of the sonic possibilities that emerge when we collaborate with other experts in adjacent musical fields.

Celtic specialist Fiona Gillespie (whistle, voice) and composer Paul Holmes Morton (banjo, baroque guitar) of folk band Chivalrous Crickets, musical maverick Loren Ludwig of Acronym (viola da gamba) and composer-performer extraordinaire Elliot Cole (colascione)
